Especially important to our youth-led model is the groundbreaking way in which CYC volunteer supporters collaborate with members to ensure that they have the resources they need to run a successful chapter, attend conferences, and participate in policy activities. Supporters take on an “ally” role, providing social capital, professional tips, and mentoring when appropriate. It is a relationship of mutual respect, wherein members are the leaders for creating legislative, policy, and practice change and supporters are the foundation.
