Robin Allen

Robin Allen joins CYC with 35 plus years of non-profit management. The beginning of her non-profit career involved training community volunteers in crisis management for a suicide prevention center, she still finds the training received in that role to be invaluable. Robin spent the majority of her career working for Court Appointed Special Advocate programs (CASA) in California where she provided leadership to CASA programs, beginning as a local Executive Director and then as the Executive Director of the California CASA Association for a combination of 25 years. During those years she served on many commissions and committees charged with improving the Child Welfare system. After retirement Robin continued to find ways to support the work and most importantly, the children and youth who inspire her by joining the Youth Law Center’s Quality Parenting team for 2 years, before returning as the Interim Executive Director for CYC.

Robin truly understands why CYC is so unique and effective. There are many groups across the nation that provide ways for young people who have experienced foster care to come together, but CYC’s model is uniquely powerful because every part of the policy and practice was and continues to be, authentically developed by the young leaders.

In her free time, you will find Robin in her garden and cooking delicious meals for her family.
