Rob Woronoff

As CYC’s Interim Executive Director, Rob works in close collaboration with the agency’s board of directors, staff, and youth members. He oversees all aspects of the agency’s day-to-day operations, including guiding it through its transition to the next permanent Executive Director who will lead CYC into its exciting future.
Rob has worked with and on behalf of youth in care for over thirty years for organizations including the Child Welfare League of America, Just Detention International, and the USC School of Social Work, among many others. He most recently served as Executive Director and CEO of Sanctuary Palm Springs, a transitional housing placement program for LGBTQ+ transition age foster youth located in Palm Springs, CA. He has provided consultation, training and technical assistance to numerous organizations including the US Departments of Justice and Health and Human Services, the American Bar Association, National Court Appointed Special Advocates, and the Human Rights Campaign, and has provided training to social workers, foster parents, youth in care, attorneys, and law enforcement and corrections officials in nearly every state. Rob has been a licensed foster parent, an adoptive parent, and a birth parent because children are simply the very best part about being alive.
When he’s not working, Rob loves spending time with family, friends, and his husband and their dog, cooking (and eating), watching as much tennis as possible, hiking in the desert, reading, listening to music, and writing.
