Melissa Cortez

As the Communications Manager, Melissa oversees CYC’s overall communication strategy to support the goals of the organization. This includes overseeing CYC’s social media strategy, increasing brand awareness, generating inbound traffic, and creating/ publishing content.

Melissa is an experienced non-profit and communications professional. She has developed a range of skills including digital marketing, social media marketing, video editing, content creation, and communications. She is passionate about utilizing her skills to build community and create positive change. She develops creative and effective communications methods to increase overall visibility of the mission and important work CYC does.

Melissa enjoys going to the dog beach, hiking, journaling, and taking photos/ videos for fun. Melissa earned a Bachelor’s Degree in English from Whittier College, go Poets!
