Marie Ary is a former foster youth and was an active member of the Sacramento County Chapter for over six years. Marie had a positive experience in foster care but when she learned that many of her peers were not having positive experiences that fueled her interest to become an advocate for foster care.
Marie has previously held three positions at CYC, first as a Temporary Administrative Assistant, second as a Policy Intern, and third as a Temporary Far Northern Regional Coordinator. With a love for learning and experience from previous positions, Marie is equipped with the skills needed for her new position. In her new role, Marie supports CYC’s Statewide Office as an Administrative Assistant and as Conference Registrar.
Marie is a college graduate of the historic Johnson C. Smith University in Charlotte, N.C. She obtained her bachelor’s degree in Computer Science Information Systems and received the highest GPA for her major. Marie is also the author of three books of poetry titled “Reflections of My Smiles,” “Growth in My Life & Spirit” and “Seeking God in College.” In her free time, Marie enjoys listening to music, writing poetry, watching and playing basketball, reading, and editing photos.
