Haydée Cuza, Executive Director



Haydée has an unwavering passion for integrating youth-led advocacy into systems that serve young people. Her love for and commitment to members comes from her lived experiences with homelessness and foster care and as a mommy, Lita (grandma),  queer, multicultural womyn.

Before serving as Executive Director for California Youth Connection (CYC), Haydée served as the Executive Director for PEERS and Youth In Mind, peer-run mental health organizations; a Social Scientist and Technical Assistance Specialist working with federally funded workforce development programs, nonprofits, and for profit organizations; the Program Director for Youth Advocate Program in Alameda County; and the Southern Region Policy Coordinator for CYC. At the age of 16, while in foster care, Haydée was a founding member of the California Youth Connection (CYC) in Los Angeles County.
