Central Valley Regional Coordinator
Hector was hired in 2013 to work as the Central Valley Regional Coordinator. Born in Bakersfield and having moved to Fresno when he was two years old, Hector takes pride in his Central Valley roots. He currently has a Masters Degree in Social Work from CSU Fresno and enjoys being part of statewide movements for social change. He has significant experience on the policy and legislation process having worked for other organizations including the American Civil Liberties Union, Food & Water Watch and the California Faculty Association. Hector believes that the empowerment of foster youth is necessary to be able to take control of their lives and future. In order to do that, he believes that it is the duty of our county and state government to provide a voice for foster youth, however it is equally important to see foster youth take a stand and be active, participating in making their voice heard.
